Finally London Olympics 2012 got finished, Similar to the opening ceremony there was a grand farewell to bring down the curtains on the 30th Olympic Games with a heady mix of music, culture and dazzling fireworks in London. More than 10,500 athletes from 204 nations took part in the Games staged in this historic city for an unprecedented third time Every nation did their hard work for the medals and got what they diserved.
US take the first place with total 104 medals by leaving China (87 medals) at second spot in the medals tally while hosts Britain produced their best-ever show to take the third position. Usain Bolt and Michael Phelps became best performer in London Olympics. India too had many moments of glory in London Olympics as India reached up its best ever medal tally of six. Well if we see the overall performance of India then this is the best ever undoubtedly, but for a country of more than 121 crore people number of medals only six is just not good enough, Indian team was a team of 87 people which is really a good number there were many good athletes from whom country was expecting medals, but only few of them became succeed , and biggest hopes of medals shooter Abhinav Bindra and Ronjan sodhi, boxer Vijender Singh and archer Deepika Kumari came back to India without any medal that is really a sad thing for everyone.
Hero of Indian Olympic team The 5 foot 5 inch tall, wrestler from Najafgarh Sushil Kumar, who declared himself as the best Olympic athlete of India ever by winning two Olympic medals back-to-back Bronze in Beijing 2008 and Silver in London 2012 respectively. Sushil beat the defending Olympic champion in semifinal bout to claim a Silver. He had one day to make a mark and he fought his way to the final of the 66kg freestyle event. 1. Gagan Narang
Rifle shooter Gagan Narang won first medal for India in London Olympics he won bronze medal in the men’s 10m air rifle, He had also won four gold medals in Delhi Commonwealth Games so Gagan Narag was in the list of the biggest medal hopes and he did. Congratulations to giant shooter.
Vijay Kumar has achieved really big honor by winning Silver medal in Olympics, Vijay Kumar came in limelight after winning the Gold medal in Delhi Commonwealth Games, He came second in 25 metres rapid fire pistol event in London and won Silver medal. Vijay is a JCO in the Indian Army.
3. Saina Nehwal
The whole country was expecting Gold from this twenty year old ace shutler Saina Nehwal after seeing her performance before Olympics, she was on her best. But unfortunately she didn.t succeed in winning gold, Saina won Bronze medal by default when her second seeded opponent Wang Xin collapsed with a knee injury. She won first medal in Badminton for India ever and made history.
4. MC Mary Kom
Boxing was expexted as the power of India team but all male boxer failed in winning any medal where as first time lady olympian MC Mary Komwon Bronze and she became India’s only medal winning boxer at London Olympics and with that she made a history and became India’s first woman boxer to win an Olympic medal.
This was probably the last Olympic for Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and it became biggest boon for him, Yogeshwar won bronze medal in London on the second last day and give India it’s fifth Olympic medal. This was proudy moment for all Indian wrestlers.
6. Sushil Kumar
The World Champion and greatest Indian Olympian, Sushil Kumar gave India the reason to celebrate the great event on its final day but He was suffering from de-hydration and a stomach bug by the time he came out for his final bout. He put up a valiant fight nonetheless only to eventually finish second best against Japan’s wrestler Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu. Sushil made every all Indians Proudy by winning silver medal in the Men’s 66kg Freestyle Wrestling event.
Many many huge Congratulations to all medal winner Indian Olympians, we hope We will win much more than this in next Olympics in Rio, Brazil. Indian government announced Crores of Ruppes for the prize for these Champions, Today all is India talking about them and wishing them a long life.
